This is a Critical Acquisition Position. Unless specifically waived by the appropriate Army official, (i.e., the Director of Acquisition Career Management, the Army Acquisition Executive, or the Secretary of the Army) or if the employee is Grandfathered under 10 U.S.C. 1736(c)(1), the following are statutorily mandated requirements (Reference:
10 U.S.C. 1732 and 1737) - Selectee must be an Acquisition Corps (AC) member at time of permanent selection or submit an application for a waiver (Proof of membership is not required at time of application, but will be requested upon selection). - This Critical Acquisition Position requires Senior Level III certification in the acquisition career field of Contracting under the Defense Acquisition Work Improvement Act (DAWIA) or submission of application for a waiver. (The waiver does not negate the requirement for Level III certification, it only grants additional time to achieve the required certification). - Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in Federal service in the position for at least three years. In signing such agreement, the employee does not forfeit any employment rights, nor does such an agreement alter any other terms or conditions of employment. Who May Apply:

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as:
1) Applying procurement regulations and/or contracting principles encompassing pre and post award functions, 2)serving as a technical expert to ensure contracting laws, principles, regulations, and strategies are adhered to within an acquisition/ procurement program, and 3) demonstrating leadership oversight of an contracting/procurement staff. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-13). Must have completed all mandatory training prescribed by the head of the agency for progression to GS-13 or higher level contracting positions, including at least 4 years of experience in contracting or related positions. At least 1 year of that experience must have been specialized experience at or equivalent to work at the GS-13 level of the position and must have provided the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the work of the position. Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
