Position: System Engineer Level II
Position Description: Guide users and team members in formulating requirements, advise on viability of alternative approaches, and conduct and evaluate feasibility studies. Responsible for the integration of requirements, design, risk mitigation and technology of complex systems. Participate in an engineering and development team. Analyze system requirement and assist in design and development activities for complex systems. Guide implementation of and adherence to the C4ISR/DoDAF process and Capability Maturity Model integrated (CMMi) best practices. Seamlessly incorporate new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations. Develop associated technical documentation.
Specific Duties:
Provides technical project support and subject matter expertise for translation memory (TM) project
Provides technical advice on Chinese natural language processing issues to technical leaders
Administer/test commercial TM system in a cloud environment
Support and improve upon a basic web application which exposes translation memory data for user search
Develop applications to perform ad-hoc text processing tasks supporting various technical language-related projects
Work with developers and engineers to troubleshoot and improve language processing in existing/future systems
Conduct target development, translate/transcribe traffic and produce serialized reports for product line
Requires a Bachelor''s degree and 8 years experience. 5 years experience as a systems engineer in programs encompassing systems architecture, requirements analysis, design, production, integration, test and transition into operations. 5 years system engineering experience obtained in an intelligence community.
Specific
Qualifications:
Minimum 2/2 DLPT/ILR score in Mandarin Chinese (some background in natural language processing, full-text search engines, and computer-assisted translation technology would be what to look for)
Programming/Database experience in any language but preferably Python, Java and PHP (need to be able to write scripts and basic applications to manipulate data and programmatically access NSA systems in order to generate statistics and analytics)
Computer Science background , preferably with experience/interest in natural language processing
Experience with full-text search engines, computer-assisted translations tools and translation memory software
Requires TS/SCI with Poly.
