Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and administering the development and operational environments in a high-visibility lab supporting cross-domain activities within an aggressive schedule for completion. Responsibilities will include creating documentation for physical and virtual server set-up, troubleshooting, back-up and support on a primarily Linux platform using OpenStack. The position requires some Network understanding, ability to configure routers, firewalls and virtual private networks. The System Administrator will work with the ISSE to implement Defense In Depth principles and technologies including access control, authorization, identification and authentication, public key infrastructure, network, and enterprise security architecture, to include design, development, and implementation of firewalls as well as the evaluation, review and test of security code. In addition to the skills identified, experience with ZOOM, GHOSTMACHINE, and MASH would be useful in supporting this position.
Required Skills:
Shall have at least 10 years experience as a Systems Administration experience administering user accounts, performing server subsystem configuration, network management, installation of software, performing backups, configuration management and general system maintenance.
Shall have UNIX system administration experience (Linux, Solaris), understanding of fundamental networking and distributed computing environment concepts, Microsoft Windows, performance tuning and capacity planning of servers (hardware and software levels), and the ability to write simple Perl/Shell scripts.
Shall have strong customer service, organizational skills, knowledge of applicable policies and procedures.
Shall have experience in updating and maintaining web pages.
Shall have knowledge of query syntax, data flows and of how to manipulate traffic.
Shall have demonstrated in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems.
Shall have demonstrated work experience providing detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets.
Desired Skills:
Self-starter, capable of working both independently and in team environments.
Understanding of analytical needs and requirements.
Experience with or certification in Cloud environments.
Location: Annapolis Junction, MD
Degree: Bachelors Degree in a related field.
Clearance: Positions require a Top Secret security clearance, based on current background investigation (SBI), as well as the favorable completion of polygraph. Clearance and polygraph processing will be completed by the U.S. Government.
