Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
Provides detailed information in designing and planning voice and network communications and infrastructure systems to include all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways and storage systems.
Provides specifications for new network hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
Assists in the purchase, testing, installation, and support of network communications equipment including LAN/MAN/WAN systems.
Provides assistance and oversight for all information systems operations activities, including computer and telecommunications/communications operations, data control, LAN/MAN/WAN administration and operations support, operating systems programming, system security policy procedures, and/or system administration functions.
Analyzes network traffic for performance issues and provides recommendations for resolution
Monitors and responds to hardware, software, and network problems.
Interfaces with vendor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
Conducts testing of network design.
Qualifications:
Network Engineer:
Has extensive working experience in Cisco networking equipment to include switch virtualization, IP convergence, network resiliency, network segmentation.
Working knowledge of IPV6, QOS, DNSSec, Multi-cast, VPN
BGP, OSPF, MPLS, as well as related routing protocols
VO-IP Engineer:
Has extensive working experience in Cisco networking equipment to include switch virtualization, IP convergence, network resiliency, network segmentation. Working knowledge of IPV6, QoS, DNSSec, Multi-cast, VPN, SIP, Unified Communications, H.232, and MOS Testing
EIGRP, OSPF, MPLS, as well as related routing protocols
Certifications
CCNP - Voice
CCIE
Requires Bachelor's degree in (Computer Science, Math or Engineering) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience.
Clearance required. Must be a US citizen with clean criminal and financial record in order to obtain/maintain.
