The Altamira team in Annapolis Junction has a Fully-Funded
position
for a System Engineer/System Administrator that will work on our R&D technical contract with our Intelligence
community
customer. This Systems Engineer/Administrator will work closely with other software developers, engineers and testers in a cutting-edge agile environment. You will need to be a critical thinker as you will be required to provide user account management, network configuration, routine maintenance, workstation/disk configuration & management, troubleshooting, documentation, training, and support for UNIX, Linux, and Windows systems, peripherals, kernels, and scripts. This position requires strong experience with RedHat Linux and the Open Stack platform. You will need to be comfortable with the installation of Red Hat Linux, Linux and Windows operating systems, software applications and provide recommendations on methods to improve or update existing systems to maximize performance.
Required:
Minimum of five (5) years experience with systems administration.
Within the last three (3) years, one (1) year experience performing periodic system back-ups and develop/documents standard operating procedures for these activities.
Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MSCA) or RedHat Certified Technician (RHCT)
Minimum of three (3) years experience in hardware installation and configuration
Minimum of three (3) years experience providing hands-on support and assistance to users
Minimum of two (2) years experience in hardware and software systems that support rapid provisioning of test environments in multiple configurations.
Minimum of two (2) years of in-depth experience working with and configuring operating systems, including Windows and Red Hat Linux.
Minimum of two (2) years experience installing, configuring, and operating VMware.
An active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required!
Desired Skills:
Minimum of two (2) years experience deploying hardware in the Annapolis Junction Community
Minimum of two (2) years experience with Python scripting
Minimum of one (1) year experience setting up and configuring cloud environments for utility computingEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
