As a Senior ADC Engineer in S3 and Glacier Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering, you get to deliver these capabilities and delight our customers through teams of talented engineers and leaders.
The S3 and Glacier ADC Engineering team is looking for candidates motivated to solve complex challenges, simplifying delivery S3 and Glacier capabilities to our US Intelligence Community and Defense agency customers.
The team has the unique perspective of operating all of S3 and Glacier, instead of the software components.
This enables our team to drive cross organization initiatives to remove operational hurdles, optimize software delivery, and remove bottle necks felt by all of AWS.
Engineers on this diverse team enjoy diving deep into root causes of issues, automating manual tasks, and continually raising the bar to improve the customer experience.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.

Key job responsibilitiesA Senior ADC Engineer is able to solve complex problems where the problem may not be fully understood and the solution is not understood.
They can mitigate operational risks, remove software blockers, and design appropriately simple solutions that address constraints.
They use their high judgement to create sustainable long term solutions to address systemic operational, scaling, or resiliency risks across teams.
Their knowledge of technical domains has depth and breadth across hardware, software, networking, Linux, security, cloud implementations, operating at scale, etc.
Successful engineers in this role proactively drive preventative measures before it causes impact.
When existing processes can be optimized, they adopt, create, or refine automation.
They are effective at working across teams to build consensus to resolve challenges, while articulating tradeoffs and risks for proposed solutions.
They are expected to mentor, document, train junior, and develop engineers inside and outside of the team.
A day in the lifeOn a typical day, our engineers may dive deep to find the root cause of a customer issue, investigate why a metric is trending in the wrong direction, or discuss radical new approaches to automate operational processes.
As a member of our team you will join a dedicated group of engineers who provide troubleshooting and operations support, and innovate to automate operational tasks.
You will be able to take a defined project, break down the work to help define milestones, and feedback mechanisms.
You identify when implementations are not highly available or have defects; you investigate systemic patterns.
You resolve, mitigate, or escalate operational concerns in a timely manner.
